The Town of Hanover has announced the appointment of Andrew Wilken as its next chief administrative officer (CAO), effective Oct. 5, 2026. Hanover council, with the assistance of Waterhouse Executive Search, completed a recruitment process that included both internal and external candidates.
Wilken is currently the town’s director of development and infrastructure, as well as chief building official. He has progressively advanced his municipal skills, knowledge and leadership since joining the town in 2021.
“We are confident in the future ahead and the continued strength of our organization with Andrew Wilken as our next CAO,” says Mayor Sue Paterson. “He brings a solid understanding of the pressures facing our Town, including growth, infrastructure needs, service expectations, fiscal responsibility, organizational capacity, and the importance of strong relationships with council, staff, Grey County, local municipalities, community partners, and residents.”
Wilken has led and advanced community building, planning and growth initiatives during his time with the town, while fostering positive working relationships with staff and community partners.
“I am incredibly proud to be appointed CAO and look forward to furthering the important strategic work ahead in collaboration with council and our staff as our Town continues to evolve and thrive,” says Wilken.
Wilken will succeed current CAO Sherri Walden, who retires at the end of December.
