The OPP say a cyclist suffered “serious, life-threatening injuries” from an accident in Georgian Bluffs.
Grey Bruce OPP and Grey County paramedics responded to a report of an injured cyclist on Grey Road 1 near the Wiarton Airport in Georgian Bluffs around 11:30 a.m. Monday morning.
“Upon arrival, emergency responders located a 62-year-old resident of Georgian Bluffs near a bicycle,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release. “The individual sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being airlifted by Ornge Air Ambulance to a trauma centre for further treatment.”
The OPP say the circumstances surrounding the accident are still being determined.
“Members of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team attended the scene and are assisting with the ongoing investigation,” police say in a statement.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
Grey Road 1 was closed at Winter Street yesterday for the police investigation and re-opened early this morning.
