Owen Sound will host a free-entry, two-day Canada Day celebration on June 30 and July 1 at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park.
The festivities begin June 30 at 1 p.m. with more than 15 food trucks, over 60 vendors and family-friendly entertainment.
Also on June 30, the city’s first-ever drone show will take place over the soccer field at 10 p.m.
The park opens at 10 a.m. on July 1. Other activities over the two days include interactive games, flying dog shows, pony rides and a display of emergency vehicles.
Fireworks will light up the harbour on July 1 starting at 10 p.m.
Music will run throughout the weekend, featuring live performances on the Mix 106.5-sponsored stage. The lineup includes the Mike McCarthy Band, the Rob Elder Trio and the EH Team. The latter group consists of Drew Wright, a top-10 finalist from Season 3 of Canadian Idol; Tara and Trevor Mackenzie, Maple Blues Award winners for new artist of the year and nominees at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis; John Hume; Mike Weir; Ken Kelly; Jaret Koop; and Holly Sled.
On-site parking is limited; carpooling or walking is strongly encouraged.
