Owen Sound police have charged two people after executing a search warrant.
They say on Thursday, the Owen Sound Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit and Criminal Investigations Branch seized drugs and what police describe as cash proceeds of crime following the execution of a search warrant in Owen Sound.
Police say they searched a residence in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East where they say they seized 36 grams of fentanyl and more than $7,000 in cash.
According to police, the estimated street value of the seized fentanyl is approximately $14,800.
Police have charged a 45-year-old Owen Sound woman and a 73- year-old Owen Sound man with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl possession of a schedule 1 substance- methamphetamine and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Both were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
