Bears 6 Saugeen Thunderbirds 4
On Tuesday night the Bad News Bears defeated the Saugeen Thunderbirds 6-4. The Thunderbirds were up 4-2 going into the bottom of the 6th when the Bears cashed in 4 runs, and were able to hold onto the lead. Ellie Cameron pitched the complete game for the Thunderbirds, striking out 10. Jordane Robichaud went 2/3 for the Thunderbirds with two singles.
The Bears offence was led by Steph Doer who had a triple and a home run. Pitching duties were split between Em McAdam, and Cassie Snider.
Port Elgin 7 Allenford Gators 6
Tuesday night, in Port Elgin, The Port Elgin Devils squeaked by the Gators by a score of 7-6 in Grey Bruce Ladies Fastball League.
Lyndsie Greig and Alexa Millman both hit doubles for the Gators and Kerrie Emke pitched the complete game.
Janey Harris, Taylor Edwards, Lindsay Harmer and Heather Tout split the pitching duties for Port Elgin, but the big star was Shannon Couts who played her first fastball game in 14 years and went 2 for 4 while knocking in the winning run with a walk-off double to win the game in the bottom of the 7th inning.
