The Ontario Hockey League’s U18 Priority Selection was held Monday evening and the Owen Sound Attack made three picks.
The Attack had the eighth overall pick and took 6-foot-5 winger Sheamus Gunn, who had 30 points in 26 games for the North Central Predators (Orillia) AAA program during the 2025-26 season.
The Barrie native is a 2008-born player, who will be entering his third year of major junior eligibility in the 2026-27 season.
The two other selections the Attack made were goaltender Jacob Kirstein (second round, 28th overall) and forward Finley Schroeter (third round, 45th overall).
Kirsten played 13 games this past season with the CIH Academy Voyageuers Prep U18.
Schroeter was with the Mississauga Rebels U18 AAA team, putting up 15 points in 30 games.
The last player to suit up in a game for the Attack after being taken in the OHL’s U18 Priority Selection was forward Trent Gates, who appeared in 12 games for Owen Sound during the 2024-25 season.
