Brightshores Health System took the time to celebrate staff, physicians, and partners during its Annual Awards Celebration.
The health system took time to celebrate health professionals for career milestones, as well as innovation and dedication in the world of healthcare.
Four project teams were given the Quality Improvement Awards: Navify Pathology Lab Advantage, Computrition, Hospital-to-Home, and the new Automated Dispensing Units.
Neurologist Dr. Gordon Bryan Young was given the Physician Award in recognition of his career, while respirologist Dr. Marcus Newton received the first-ever Research Award.
Brightshores President Ann Ford said in a media release that the awards are a reflection of the pride those within the organization share and the difference they make within the communities they serve.
The award ceremony also recognized the commitment of staff and physicians with years-of-service awards, which are presented at five-year milestones. In total 275 staff and physicians were recognized, ranging in 5-35 years of service.
There was also recognition for seven additional staff members, who were recognized for reaching milestones of 40, 45, and 50 years.
The health system also recognized 11 of its employees for completing diplomas, certificates, undergraduate and graduate degrees, which reflects Brightshores’ continued investment in education and professional growth.
