Hanover police have charged a 26 year old local man after calls about a dangerous driver.
Police say it happened in Hanover and West Grey at about 10:30 p.m. May 28th.
They say they received several reports of a pickup truck towing a trailer at a high speed and passing vehicles dangerously.
Police say while on 10th Street the driver lost control, almost hitting another vehicle and drove along the sidewalk before continuing westbound towards the downtown.
Hanover Police say an investigation revealed the driver was prohibited from driving and was using unauthorized licence plates, including one reported stolen from Dufferin County.
Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on 11th Street and seized the involved pickup truck and the stolen licence plate.
The suspect was arrested and charged with driving while prohibited, dangerous driving, driving under suspension and possession of property obtained by crime.
He was later remanded into custody on charges from another policing jurisdiction and given an August court date on the Hanover charges.
Hanover Police say they would like to thank the community members who promptly reported the incident and assisted investigators with information that led to the arrest and the seizure of the pickup truck.
