Barrie Police have charged four youths in connection with an alarming series of incidents Sunday evening involving threats with a weapon and thefts from businesses in the Leacock Drive area.
Police say a large group of youths first terrorized other youths at a park – with a knife being pulled – there were threats but no injuries. Then the same group made its way to a nearby plaza on Leacock Drive, where items were stolen from two businesses. When a business owner confronted the group, the same male from the park produced a knife again and made threats, prompting the owner to retreat into the store.
Witnesses were also threatened.
Two males aged sixteen, a male fourteen year old, and a male 13 year old, all from Barrie, face various charges. The two older teens charges include offences indicating they’ve been charged and convicted before.
