Kincardine has a new Chief Administrative Officer.
Alan Smith will be taking on the role. He is currently the CAO of the Town of Kirkland Lake and has 20 years of experience around Ontario and B.C.
“We are very pleased to welcome Alan Smith to Kincardine,” says Kincardine Mayor Kenneth Craig. “His extensive experience in municipal leadership, combined with his collaborative approach and commitment to public service, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to advance Council’s priorities and serve our community.”
Smith has also held senior roles with the Village of Masset (B.C.), the County of Elgin (Ont.), and previously worked with the City of Guelph in economic development.
He began his local government career developing community plans and economic development strategies for Gjoa Haven in western Nunavut.
Smith will take over Monday, July 20, 2026 as he takes over from interim CAO Kimberley Wingrove who started back in November of 2025.
