Denise Van Amersfoort has been appointed as the county's new Director of Planning and Economic Development (From: County of Huron).

Denise Van Amersfoort has been appointed as the county’s new Director of Planning and Economic Development.
Before the promotion, Van Amersfoort served as Manager of Planning, where officials say she learned the planning and economic development landscape across Huron County and worked closely with municipal partners, stakeholders, and the community.
She will lead the merger between Huron County’s Planning and Economic Development departments.
“I’m excited to continue my professional journey in this new role and look forward to working closely with community members, business leaders, and elected officials to support the continued growth and prosperity of Huron County,” said Van Amersfoort.
Van Amersfoort replaces former Director of Economic Development Vicki Lass, and the current director of Planning and Development Sandra Weber.
