A $360,000 contract is up for approval at Meaford council today, for a construction project planned to add more downtown parking.
The municipality purchased a property at 28 Nelson Street West in 2019 with the intention of adding roughing 30 more parking spots in downtown Meaford.
If approved, the work is expected to start in August and wrap up by October. The current granular parking lot at 28 Nelson Street West, and some on street spots adjacent to the lot, will be closed during construction.
A need for more parking in downtown Meaford was identified in a 2018 Downtown Core Commercial Parking Analysis.
