Grey Bruce OPP have arrested and charged a 33-year-old man allegedly responsible for multiple break and enters in South Bruce Peninsula.
Last month — on April 21 — the OPP responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence on Howdenvale Road, east of Huron Road. Police say they discovered during their investigation multiple residences in the Howdenvale area had been broken into. A pick-up truck that had been reported stolen from Wiarton was also recovered.
There were no arrests at the time, but police released a photo of a suspect in the investigation.
Now, the OPP say a 33-year-old man is in custody in relation to the break and enters investigation.
“On May 5th, members of the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Unit located the suspect at an address on 8th Street in Owen Sound,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release. “At approximately 11:45 a.m., officers arrested the individual without incident.”
A 33-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with break an enter, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a firearm contrary to order and several other offences.
The accused was held for a bail hearing yesterday (Tuesday) and remanded into custody.
