The Owen Sound Attack response to online speculation regarding a potential sale is “the team has no comment at this time.”
Bayshore Broadcasting News received the statement after reaching out for comment on rumours circulating online about a possible Attack ownership change.
The Attack are owned by Dr. Bob Severs, Peter MacDermid and Paul MacDermid.
The three were part of the original “Super Six” ownership group, along with Fay Harshman, Frank Coulter and Brian Johnson, that purchased the former Owen Sound Platers in 2000 and renamed the club the Attack, preventing a proposed relocation to Cornwall at the time.
Attack President and Co-owner Bob Severs reassured the community in an interview with the Owen Sound Sun Times today, that owners would not sell the team to someone who didn’t agree to keep the team in Owen Sound.
The Attack are currently entering the third year of a 10-year lease agreement with the City of Owen Sound to play out of the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
The franchise is also set to host the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game in January 2027, one of the league’s marquee annual events.
