Fans of comics, gaming, cosplay, and pop culture are invited to the 14th annual Owen Sound Mini Con on Saturday, May 2nd at the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library.
The popular community event begins at 10:00 a.m. and offers a full day of fandom-themed programming for all ages.
Activities include video game tournaments, board games hosted by Scenic City Game Emporium, indoor inflatable snowball throw courtesy of Can Do Events, button making, prize draws, and a Pokémon photo wall.
This year’s event will feature the largest exhibitor lineup in Mini Con history, with 16 local creators showcasing and selling items such as Dungeons & Dragons accessories, 3D printed products, resin art, colour-changing potions, felt dolls, leatherwork, zines, and original artwork.
Costumed guests are encouraged to take part in the kids’ cosplay parade at 11:00 a.m. The cosplay competition will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the auditorium, with registration available throughout the day at the Youth Services Desk.
Most Mini Con activities are free, though attendees should bring money for snacks, artist purchases, button making, or donations to support future events.
A full event schedule is available through the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library website.
