A new chapter in urology care is underway in Muskoka, marked by advanced technology and expanded clinical capacity to better serve patients across the region.
At the center of this progress is the recent installation of a state-of-the-art urology fluoroscopy table at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare. This specialized equipment enables real-time imaging for a range of diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures, improving precision and efficiency in patient care.
For residents of Muskoka and surrounding communities, this means greater access to specialized care locally, reducing the need to travel outside the region.
Adding to this progress is the arrival of Dr. Bruce MacDonald, who joins the urology team alongside Dr. Jonathan Rhee. His addition strengthens the team’s ability to meet growing demand for urology services in the region.
He assumes the role previously held by Dr. Anthony Drohomyrecky, a respected figure whose decades of service have left a lasting impact on care in Muskoka. While his presence will be missed, the program continues to build on the strong foundation he established.
“This is a meaningful step forward for our program,” said Dr. Rhee. “With enhanced technology and additional physician support, we are better positioned to provide timely, high-quality care for patients across Muskoka.”
The Muskoka Urology team also acknowledged the community support that helped make this advancement possible, including contributions through the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation.
Together, these developments reflect continued progress in urology care in Muskoka, supporting both patients and providers across the region.
