Police in Huron County are hiring summer students interested in law enforcement.
Huron OPP say they are seeking young people between the age of 15-19 years interested in policing to apply for their Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI).
Officials say those chosen will get hands-on experience at the Clinton detachment during the program’s run from July to August.
Applicants to the program may be asked to:
- Assist at community events
- Meet policing and civilian units
- Support crime prevention campaigns
- Help maintain cruisers, boats, and equipment
- Assist with presentations and detachment tours
- Engage with youth and community members
- Take part in foot patrol and positive ticketing
- Support recruitment activities
Applicants are asked to send a resume with a cover letter, explaining why they would like to be apart of the Youth In Policing Initiative.
