Two men were in the right place at the right time to save a senior in Bayfield.
According to OPP, a senior from London accidentally reversed into the Bayfield boat launch the morning of Monday, April 6th.
Working on a jobsite nearby was Nick Schaufelberger, who says he heard the senior call for help.
“I heard a big crash and a bang, and I thought something happened with the crane,” Schaufelberger says.
“We heard someone scream for help, and me and Zach ripped down in my truck, and that’s when we noticed that there was a fence missing along the harbour side.”
Schaufelberger says he called 9-1-1 and jumped into action, with Zach holding onto the car, and Nick pulling the senior through the sunroof.
“We got him on the dock, and got him into my truck to warm him up and give him a towel, and EMS and police show up pretty quickly after that,” Schaufelberger tells Country 104.9 News.
Huron OPP say there were no injuries, and no charges have been laid.
