The Owen Sound Police Service is inviting local youth to apply for its Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) student positions this summer.
Offered in partnership with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services, the program runs part-time from June through August 2026 and is designed to strengthen relationships between police and the community.
Students selected for the program will gain hands-on experience in community engagement, crime prevention, and public education. They will also help promote street safety, summer safety, and social media awareness while working alongside the Police Service’s Community Services Department.
Applicants must be between the ages of 14 and 19, enrolled in school for the 2026–2027 academic year, eligible to work in Canada, and interested in learning about law, communications, and community involvement.
Successful candidates will receive training and mentorship through the Owen Sound Police Service.
Those interested can apply by submitting a resume and cover letter to Human Resources at the Owen Sound Police Service, either by mail or by email at hr@owensoundpolice.com.
