Ontario’s seat-belt law has passed the 50-year mark and OPP say nearly one in four road fatalities still involves someone who was not wearing a seat-belt.
Last year, the OPP responded to 41 road fatalities in which lack of seat-belt use was either the cause or a contributing factor.
Over this Easter long weekend, OPP will conduct a province-wide seat-belt campaign, hoping to see all drivers and passengers make the right choice by buckling up.
This includes ensuring all children are properly secured in the appropriate child car seat, booster seat or seat-belt for their weight, height and age.
