South Bruce OPP say a 49-year old man died in a head-on collision on Highway 21 south of Port Elgin.
Emergency services responded to the incident involving a pick-up truck and a sport utility vehicle just after 5:20 Tuesday evening just north of Concession 2 in Saugeen Shores.
OPP say in an update, “The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.”
The driver of the pickup truck was released from hospital with minor injuries.
Highway 21 was closed between Bruce Road 40 and Concession 2 for several hours for the collision investigation and has since been reopened.
South Bruce OPP say the investigation is ongoing, and they’re appealing to residents and businesses in the area of the collision who may have dash cam or security camera footage to contact them at 1-888-310-1122.
