Southern Georgian Bay OPP is advising residents and visitors of upcoming icebreaking operations in the Midland area and is strongly warning the public to stay off the ice completely.
Icebreaking operations will begin on or around April 2nd in order to support commercial vessel traffic. Due to warm temperatures and unstable ice, these operations will further weaken ice conditions and create hazardous, unpredictable surfaces.
