Planned maintenance work is set to begin this spring at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre in Southampton.
The project will take approximately three months to complete and includes roofing repairs and the replacement of aging climate control systems.
Bruce County officials say the work is part of an ongoing effort to preserve local history and enhance the visitor experience. Warden Luke Charbonneau says the upgrades will help ensure the facility remains a welcoming and reliable space for residents and visitors alike.
The new heating and cooling systems will also play a key role in protecting sensitive artifacts such as historical documents, photographs, and archival materials.
The museum will remain open throughout the construction period, with regular programming continuing as scheduled. Visitors will still be able to access the building safely through the main entrance.
Some noise and visible construction activity is expected for those living near or visiting the site during the project.
