Bruce County has announced the dates for this year’s household hazardous waste drop-offs.
The county will be holding 13 different events that will take place across the county from May until October.
The purpose of giving residents the opportunities to drop off hazardous household waste ensures that such items or chemicals aren’t dumped illegally, and prevents the risk of contaminating local landfills and waterways.
Items that will be accepted include:
– Aerosols and solvents
– Batteries and antifreeze
– Fertilizers and pesticides
– Fire extinguishers
– Fluorescent lights
– Fuel
– Household cleaners
– Paints and stains
– Pharmaceuticals
– Propane tanks
– Pool chemicals
– Used oil and filters

Southampton

Kincardine

Items that will be refused include commercial, industrial, or agricultural waste, PCB materials, ammunition, and flares.
