The Municipality of Meaford is accepting applications for its temporary patio extension program.
Meaford launched this as a pilot program in 2015 in order to bring more life to the downtown restaurant scene. The patios while on the street are protected by jersey barriers.
The program is designed to support local businesses by generating a colourful outdoor space that boosts the downtown experience for residents and visitors while upholding safety and accessibility.
The applications are currently open to eligible businesses, including restaurants, cafés, and retailers interested in installing patios.
The deadline to apply is March 31st, if you contact the municipality for more time they can grant it.
Some key dates for the 2026 Patio Program include;
Patio Agreement and Payment Due: April 24, 2026
Barrier Installation Begins: June 1, 2026
Patio Removal Deadline: October 15, 2026
