The Municipality of Meaford has announced a new fire truck.
The new truck will come with a 100-foot ladder replacing the old 75-foot ladder that Meaford currently uses.
The investment ensures that the firefighters have the most modern technology at their disposal to do the work to the best of their ability.
Rob Pilon, the Chief of the Meaford Fire Department says that the truck shows their commitment to protecting the public.
“The upgraded ladder height and modern equipment will allow our firefighters to work more efficiently and will help us better protect residents, businesses, and visitors.”
The aerial truck was ordered in 2024 at a cost of 1.73 million to avoid a big hit to the budget in a single year.
The truck is in the community protecting the Municipality of Meaford.
