Bruce County Public Library is celebrating a year of strong community connection and expanded services with the release of its 2025 Annual Report.
The report highlights a busy and successful year across the library system, with more than 2,100 programs offered and nearly 22,000 participants taking part.
Library Board Chair Mark Goetz says the library remains committed to creating welcoming spaces and improving access to resources for all residents.
A key milestone in 2025 was the launch of a redesigned website, making it easier for patrons to search the catalogue, register for programs, and access digital services.
Throughout the year, the library hosted a wide range of engaging and inclusive programming. Highlights included a Black History Month celebration featuring a film screening and cultural experience, a virtual “Sweet Talk” event with cast members from The Great Canadian Baking Show, and a Truth and Reconciliation event focused on Saugeen Ojibway Nation treaties.
Summer programming was especially strong, with 784 children collectively reading more than 49,000 minutes and hundreds of residents attending weekly events.
The library also expanded its technology offerings, adding permanent 3D printers in Wiarton, Southampton, and Port Elgin, along with new Cricut machines across multiple branches.
By the numbers, the system recorded more than 25,900 cardholders, 224,000 visits, and over 336,000 items borrowed in 2025.
The full annual report is available online through the Bruce County Public Library website.
