A new virtual program is set to help women—and anyone interested in local politics—prepare for Ontario’s 2026 municipal elections.
ElectHER Now is hosting an Online Campaign School over four Tuesdays in April, offering participants practical tools and guidance on how to run for municipal office.
The interactive program will include training videos, “Power Talks” from current women leaders, and small-group breakout sessions. Topics will range from deciding to run and building a campaign team, to fundraising, campaign financing, messaging, and marketing.
Organizers say the initiative is focused on increasing women’s representation in local government, while also welcoming anyone who wants to learn more about how municipal politics works.
The sessions run April 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with tickets available on a pay-what-you-can basis to ensure accessibility.
Ontario’s next municipal elections are scheduled for October 26, 2026.
