County council has approved the draft budget for 2026.
Council received a report from Director of Corporate Services and Treasurer Michael Blumhagen.
Staff has now been directed to prepare a bylaw for consideration that establishes the tax rate for the year.
The final total for the levy for 2026 is set at $57,991,728.
The levy increase sits at 4.55%, while the actual tax rate increase for Huron County ratepayers is at 2.78%.
The full budget and executive summary will be updated and provided to Council in April, with the staff adjustments reflected in their respective program areas.
The full budget will also be posted on the County website at that time as well.
