Grey Bruce Public Health is reminding everyone with a private well to test their drinking water for the spring.
They want well users to take advantage of the complimentary water testing service that’s provided by Public Health Ontario.
Senior Public Health Manager Andrew Barton says that springtime is the perfect time to have well water tested, and adds that well water should be tested three times per year.
Grey Bruce Public Health has a map on their webpage that shows designated pick-up/drop-off locations for samples, along with a courier schedule.
Samples dropped off in Owen Sound and Walkerton are transported to a PHO lab for testing every day.
Water samples must be tested by Public Health Ontario within 48 hours of collection, so it’s important to drop off your sample as close to the pick-up times available.
