Bruce County and the Municipality of Brockton are preparing to welcome thousands of visitors this fall as the community hosts the 2026 International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Walkerton.
The event will run September 22 to 26, 2026, bringing together agricultural traditions, demonstrations, education, entertainment, and family-friendly activities.
Hosted by the local IPM committee and the Ontario Plowmen’s Association, the International Plowing Match is one of Canada’s largest outdoor agricultural events and is held in a different Ontario community each year.
Bruce County Warden Luke Charbonneau says the event is an opportunity to celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage and showcase the partnerships and community spirit that define Bruce County.
Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody says hosting the event in Walkerton is a point of pride for the municipality and highlights the community’s strong rural roots.
The five-day event will feature world-class plowing competitions, agricultural demonstrations, live entertainment, food vendors, and attractions for all ages.
Organizers say advance tickets, family passes, and reservations for the official 2026 IPM RV Park are now available online.
Event chair Gord Lang says the event relies heavily on local partnerships and encourages businesses, organizations, artisans, and volunteers to get involved.
Exhibitors and sponsors will have the opportunity to showcase their products and services to thousands of visitors attending the event.
