
Women from across Bruce County were able to celebrate International Women’s Day, raise money, and celebrate outstanding members of the community.
The Resilient by Design event was held at the Mildmay-Carrick Recreation Complex on Thursday, March 5th.
The event was a partnership of Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, and Bruce County’s Business to Bruce program, and billed as Resilient by Design: Boundaries, Burnout and the Entrepreneur’s Bold Comeback.
Resilient by Design featured a keynote presentation by author and mental health advocate Calissa Ngozi, whose speech focused on encouraging women to make bold choices while setting empowering boundaries in order to thrive both personally and professionally, all while avoiding burnout.
The Resilient by Design event also recognized women who make a difference in Bruce County.
The 2026 Woman of Distinction Award was presented to Arianna Murdoch-Fyke, while Kira Thompson received the 2026 Young Woman of Distinction Award.
A total of $5,510 was raised for Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey, with another $910 raised from raffles that were also held.
Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey provides free and confidential services to girls and women aged 16 and over, along with their children who have experienced abuse, sexual violence, or homelessness.
