The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Watch.
An expected major low-pressure system will continue to move across the region over the next 48-72 hours bringing rainfall of 30-36mm and periods of warmer temperatures exceeding 10 degrees.
These conditions, combined with the existing snowpack, are expected to cause significant snowmelt, resulting in increased runoff, with peak flows anticipated now through Wednesday.
Due to frozen ground conditions, runoff absorption will be limited, increasing the risk of localized flooding in low-lying areas and ponding on roadways.
