The Kincardine has officially launched its 2026 Community Improvement Plan (CIP) programs, with applications opening March 3.
Council has committed $100,000 this year to support projects that promote investment, revitalization, and long-term economic growth throughout the municipality. The funding will assist eligible initiatives that enhance the built environment, improve accessibility, support new and expanding businesses, and advance housing, commercial, and industrial development opportunities.
The 2026 CIP suite includes several targeted programs:
-
Start-up Space Leasehold Improvement Program
-
Predevelopment Study and Design Program
-
Building Improvement and Structural Program
-
Surplus Land CIP Program (coming soon)
In addition, the Municipality has allocated $20,000 toward the County-supported Spruce the Bruce Community Improvement Plan program, providing further support for downtown revitalization and façade improvements.
Mayor Kenneth Craig says strategic incentives help reduce barriers and unlock private investment while creating conditions for continued growth across Kincardine.
Application Intake 1 closes August 28, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., while Intake 2 closes October 16, 2026, subject to available funding.
Applicants are encouraged to contact Municipal staff early in the planning process to confirm eligibility and discuss project details. More information, including guidelines and application forms, is available on the Municipality of Kincardine’s website.
