Members of the Ontario Provincial Police South Bruce detachment have charged two individuals in separate impaired driving incidents this week in the Municipality of South Bruce.
In both incidents, police were alerted by calls from concerned citizens.
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, officers responded to reports of a possible impaired driver at a business on Highway 9 in Mildmay. While en route, police received a second report of the same vehicle on Peter Street South. Officers say the driver fled on foot after colliding with a snowbank but was taken into custody without incident. The individual has been charged with operation while impaired.
The following morning, Thursday, February 26, 2026, at approximately 8:20 a.m., police responded to another report of a possible impaired driver on Clinton Street in Teeswater. Officers located the vehicle and arrested the driver without incident. That individual is charged with operation while impaired and possession of methamphetamine.
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on April 8, 2026.
Police remind residents that suspected impaired drivers can be reported by calling 9-1-1 in an emergency or the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122.
