The Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) is celebrating national recognition for its President and CEO.
Jessica Linthorne has been named Emerging Leader of the Year at Electricity Human Resources Canada’s 2025 Awards of Excellence. The honour recognizes professionals with fewer than 10 years of experience in the electricity industry who demonstrate exceptional initiative, innovation and leadership.
Linthorne was recognized at the 13th annual EHRC Awards ceremony in Toronto. The award celebrates individuals whose accomplishments inspire peers, empower teams and deliver meaningful impact across Canada’s electricity sector.
Since taking on the role of President and CEO in 2024, Linthorne has guided NII through a period of significant growth, positioning the organization as a key player in Canada’s clean energy ecosystem. Under her leadership, NII has advanced nuclear innovation projects, strengthened workforce development initiatives and supported safety and operational improvements across the sector.
NII Board Chair James Scongack praised Linthorne’s vision and leadership, “Jessica exemplifies the very spirit of this award—an accomplished and impactful leader whose vision, ingenuity and drive are transforming both her sector and her community. She has cultivated a culture of excellence within NII—one that attracts top talent, empowers employees and delivers measurable outcomes for Founding Members, industry partners, governments and local communities.”
Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau, who also serves as an NII board member, credited Linthorne with strengthening collaboration between municipalities and the nuclear sector and helping local governments align with clean energy growth opportunities.
Linthorne says she is honoured by the recognition and notes the award reflects the dedication of the NII team and its founding members in working toward a strong and innovative clean energy future for Canada.
The EHRC Awards of Excellence celebrate leaders and organizations making a positive and lasting impact in building a skilled workforce within Canada’s electricity industry.
