The United Way is hosting their “Coldest Night of the Year” fundraising walk Saturday, benefitting local homeless initiatives.
While the walks are happening in cities and towns across the country, the Goderich walk is currently at 24th out of 222 country-wide for fundraising, ahead of bigger cities like Kelowna, Montreal, Kingston, and Cambridge.
As of publishing, the Goderich walk has fundraised over $103 thousand.
The Coldest Night walk in Exeter is at 108th nationwide, while Wingham sits at 152nd.
Meantime, the Goderich group “Bernie’s Bunch” is 15th country wide for fundraising, bringing in over $16 thousand for the charity walk.
Funds raised in Goderich benefit the Huron Homelessness Initiative, while the Exeter walk supports the Southern Huron Connection Centre, and the Wingham walk raises money for the Northern Huron Connection Centre.
