The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has announced the appointment of Inspector Jeff Dixon as the new Detachment Commander of the Huntsville OPP.
As part of the OPP’s ongoing commitment to enhancing service delivery and in recognition of the community’s growth and the corresponding increase in the detachment’s staffing levels, the position of Huntsville Detachment Commander has changed from Staff Sergeant to Inspector.
The OPP is pleased to announce that Inspector Dixon has been appointed as the new Detachment Commander of the Huntsville Detachment.
Inspector Dixon began his policing career with the OPP in 2003 at the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment. Throughout his service, he has held several key roles, most recently as the Central Region Crime Manager and Detachment Commander of the Orillia Detachment. Insp. Dixon brings extensive experience in frontline operations, leadership, and community engagement. His leadership will guide the detachment through its continued evolution, ensuring officers and civilian members are supported in delivering high‑quality policing services to the communities they serve.
“This change in leadership rank ensures the Huntsville Detachment is positioned to meet current and future demands. Inspector Dixon’s experience and dedication make him well suited to lead the detachment through this transition.”
– Superintendent Jodi Kays, Central Region
The OPP remains committed to modern, effective, and community‑focused policing, and this organizational update reflects that commitment.
