An Owen Sound mother who died after being struck by a vehicle last week is being remembered for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for others.
Sabrina Ormsby, 48, died in hospital following the collision Tuesday evening while crossing at the intersection of 10th Street East and 16th Avenue East.
Sabrina leaves behind her husband, David Greenfield, and their three children.
Niki Ormsby describes her sister as someone that had a lot of love to give. “She’s always loved big, she’s always loved passionately, she’s always loved fiercely…whether its her family, her friends, rescue animals.”
A community fundraising campaign launched to support the family has drawn strong response, raising close to $22,000 as of the weekend. The funds are expected to help cover immediate expenses, household needs, and provide financial stability for the children in the weeks and months ahead.
Niki Ormsby says therapy will also be provided with the funds to support the children; “Her oldest witnessed that…Georgia was with her, Gerorgia called 9-1-1…no child should ever have to do that, especially at the age of 17. It was her middle child’s birthday that day..and that is going to be in Alexandra’s mind for her whole entire life.”
