Bruce Power is committing $1 million to Noongwa Wellness over a three-year time frame.
The nuclear power company announced the commitment on Wednesday.
The Noongwa Wellness project is focused on transforming community healthcare delivery in Neyaashiinigmiing.
The project is aiming to expanding access to in-community, in-home, and culturally relevant healthcare.
It’s also the new primary care clinic servicing the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
The clinic has also announced its inaugural physician, Dr. Elisa Levi, who is also a member of the First Nation.
Since the Ministry of Health announced funding for the new primary health care organization in October 2025, Noongwa Wellness has actively partnered with the Grey-Bruce Ontario Health Team (GBOHT) and has successfully enrolled more than 200 patients.
Noongwa Wellness is working toward the creation of an Indigenous-owned and operated integrative health building and learning network in a place where culture, community, and care come together to serve generations to come.
