The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has recovered five stolen vehicles and charged three youths following a series of incidents involving vehicle thefts, break and enters, and collisions.
Between 11:15 p.m. on February 5, 2026, and 12:30 p.m. on February 6, 2026, members of the West Parry Sound OPP responded to several related occurrences involving stolen vehicles, break and enters, and motor vehicle collisions.
Following an extensive investigation, officers determined the incidents were connected. Police recovered five stolen vehicles, several of which had been involved in overnight collisions.
As a result of the investigation, on February 6, 2026, three youths were arrested and charged with numerous criminal offences.
A 15-year-old from Georgian Bay Township has been charged with the following offences:
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle – five counts
- Dangerous operation
- Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence – two counts
- Trespassing at Night – three Counts
- Theft of Credit Card
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Mischief – interferes with the lawful use – two counts
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
A 14-year-old from McDougall has been charged with the following offences:
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle – five counts
- Dangerous operation
- Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence – two counts
- Trespassing at Night – three counts
- Theft of Credit Card
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Mischief – interferes with the lawful use – two counts
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
A 16-year-old from Parry Sound has been charged with the following offences:
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle – three counts
- Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence
- Mischief – interferes with the lawful use – two counts
- Mischief Under $ 5,000
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Theft of Credit Card
- Trespassing at Night
The accused youths were held for bail and will further appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on March 5, 2026.
In accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), the OPP will not release the identities of the accused.
