West Grey Police say they’ve made an arrest, and are trying to identify two suspects in relation to a counterfeit currency investigation.
The municipal police service says they’ve received 10 reports of fake money being used at local businesses in the past week.
On Monday, a 27-year-old West Grey woman was arrested after she allegedly used counterfeit bills at two locations in Durham.
“The female was arrested, charged, and subsequently released to the Hanover Police Service, where she was also facing additional charges related to the use of counterfeit currency at businesses in Hanover,” West Grey Police say in a release.
West Grey Police say they’re trying to identify two additional suspects relating to the counterfeit currency investigation and have released security camera images of them.
Anyone who can help identify the suspects is asked to contact West Grey Police.
Earlier this week, police in Hanover also put out a notice about fake $100 bills circulating in the area.
