A Hanover woman has won a $100,000 playing the lottery.
The OLG says Wilma Hannivan of Hanover matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the December 30, 2025 LOTTO MAX draw.
Hannivan, a retired personal support worker, says she plays the lottery once in a blue moon.
“When the thought crosses my mind, I’ll go buy a ticket,” the 68-year-old shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings.
She explains, “I was at the grocery store doing my weekly shopping when I decided to check my ticket at the ticket checker. The moment the screen loaded, my heart nearly stopped– I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!”
Wilma drove straight to her daughter’s house to share the news, saying, “When I told my daughter, her eyes nearly popped out of her head,” she said with a laugh. “We both just stood there in complete silence trying to process it.”
“This money is going to help me in so many ways,” says Hannivan, adding “I plan to purchase a new car since my old one suddenly broke down. The timing of this win is beyond perfect.”
As for the rest of her windfall, she plans to save and invest and is looking forward to enjoying a nice dinner with her family to celebrate.
The winning ticket was purchased at Pioneer/On the Run on 10th Street in Hanover.
