Grey Bruce OPP arrested and charged several people with drug and weapon charges after executing a search warrant in Markdale.
The OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were called in for the search of a residence on Wellington Street in Markdale, just prior to 6 a.m. on Jan. 16.
“Officers seized controlled substances with an approximate potential street value of $15,000, approximately $3,000 in Canadian currency, and recovered suspected stolen property valued at approximately $30,000,” Grey Bruce OPP say in a release.
Suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy and oxycodone were among the narcotics seized, police say.
Grey Bruce OPP Const. Kody Lyons says there were several individuals located inside the residence who were arrested without incident.
A 48-year-old Markdale man and 30-year-old Hanover woman were charged with several drug trafficking offences. They were also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime.
Two other Markdale men, ages 52 and 45, and a 32-year-old Markdale woman were charged with simple drug possession offences, and possession of property obtained by crime.
