Many schools are closed around the Grey Bruce region Friday as snow squall warnings continue.
Snow squall warnings remain in place in Grey Bruce. Environment Canada is calling for 10-15 centimetres of snow for most of the region, some heavier stuff could fall in parts of Bruce County. Blowing snow will also persist, creating challenging driving conditions.
“Strong wind gusts of 60 km/h will lead to low visibility in blowing snow. The blowing snow will be most pronounced in open and wind exposed areas,” Environment Canada says in its warning. “Travel will likely be hazardous. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. Road closures are possible.”
There are many provincial highways and county roads closed as well. You can find the latest reported information here.
