The Owen Sound Attack announced a pair of trades Thursday afternoon.
The Attack completed a deal with the Ottawa 67’s, sending their captain, defenceman David Bedkowski to the nation’s capital for five OHL Priority Selection picks.
The draft picks the Attack acquired are Soo’s second-round selection in 2027, Kitchener’s third in 2027, Ottawa’s third in 2028, and then Ottawa’s fourth- and seventh-round picks in 2029 and 2026 respectively.
Owen Sound then moved a couple of third-round picks (Soo’s in 2028 and its own in 2029) and the rights to Jacob Vandeven, who plays in the GOHL with Komoka Kings, to the London Knights for defenceman Julian Brown.
Bedkowski, 19, joined the Attack in the 2024-25 season alongside forward Tristan Delisle in a trade with Oshawa that sent forward Colby Barlow to the Generals. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound Buffalo Sabres prospect appeared in 73 games for Owen Sound, putting up 24 points (5-19–24) and a -2 rating. He was an imposing physical presence along the Attack blueline known for seeking out big open ice hits.
Brown, 19, is a left-shot defenceman who will help fill the size-void left on the Attack backend by Bedkowski’s departure. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound defender is playing his his first full season in the OHL. He recorded seven points (1-6–7), 48 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating in 36 games with London. The Montclair, New Jersey native spent the 2024-25 playing with the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers.
