South Bruce OPP say two people have been injured in a dog bite incident.
They say at about 8:30 Tuesday morning OPP received a report about a dog bite at a residence along Kincardine-Kinloss Townline.
Police attended the location with Bruce County Paramedic Services and found two people who had been bitten by a dog that was owned by one of the involved people.
They were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
OPP say, “The dog has been contained, and animal control are assisting with the matter.”
South Bruce OPP say they would like to take this opportunity to remind all dog owners to be familiar with the Dog Owners Liability Act (DOLA).
Provincial police say, “Under this act, the owner of a dog shall exercise reasonable precautions to prevent it from biting or attacking a person or domestic animal; or from behaving in a manner that poses a menace to the safety of the public. Further, the owner of a dog could be liable if the dog bites or attacks another person or domestic animal. Please ensure that you are able to maintain control of your dog at all times in order to prevent any potential injuries to others or to the dog itself.”
