
Ethan Miedema scored a pair of goals as the Guelph Storm downed the Owen Sound Attack 4-1 in Ontario Hockey League action Wednesday evening at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
Layne Gallacher and Tyler Hopkins also scored for Guelph (18-18-2-1), which won its third straight game.
Caden Taylor had the lone goal for the Attack (18-18-1-3), which lost its second straight and ninth in the past 10 games.
Owen Sound led 1-0 after the first, then the Storm rolled off four unanswered.
Miedema scored a key insurance goal midway through the third period, streaking down the left wing and then putting a perfect wrist shot over the glove of Matthew Koprowski to make it 3-1 Guelph. Hopkins would add an empty-netter.
Zach Jovanovski made 40 saves in the win, while Koprowski stopped 38 taking the loss. The Storm outshot the Attack 42-41 while going 0 for 2 on the power play; Owen Sound finished 0 for 3.
Next up for the Attack is a home game Saturday against the Midwest Division leading Kitchener Rangers.
