You can have your say to help shape a potential regional transportation network in Bruce, Grey, Wellington and Dufferin counties.
A public survey is open to Jan. 25 and asks residents of the four counties about how they currently travel, priorities for public transit and thoughts on existing transit options.
“This survey will assess if a unified transit network is possible in the region of the four counties,” says Grey County Communications Manager Rob Hatten. “The goal is to create a transit network that is accessible for passengers, and expands services to areas that are currently underserved.”
Last year, the Ontario government committed $9.5-million in funding for a potential regional transit network connecting Bruce, Grey and Dufferin counties. A study is being undertaken to help figure out what that could look like.
Hatten says the study will be completed over the next few months, and then reports about what kind of transit system could be successful in the region would be brought back to county councils.
You can find the public survey here. Physicial copies of the survey are also available at county administration offices.
