Grey Highlands is gearing up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of amalgamation.
Council approved having the Peace Committee work on the anniversary celebrations during a meeting on Wednesday ahead of commemorating the milestone in the new year.
The municipality was formed on Jan. 1, 2001 with the amalgamation of four smaller governments, the Town of Markdale, and the Townships of Artemesia, Euphrasia, and Osprey.
The committee is working on ways to mark the anniversary including considering recognizing the historical factor, holding some kind of performance and have something for all age groups.
